Children from The Anglo-Chinese School test football skills in UAE capital

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 20 November, 2011: Reem Investments is underlining its commitment to promoting sports tourism in Abu Dhabi by hosting a delegation of children from The Anglo-Chinese School (ACS) in Singapore.

The 23 children, aged between eight and 12, will spend their week-long trip playing a series of friendly football matches against local and international school teams, developing their football skills and learning about the UAE and its culture.

Their visit also coincides with the Abu Dhabi launch of Dutch street soccer group the Streetkings who are setting up a permanent home at the Dome@Rawdhat in the UAE capital after signing a two-year partnership agreement with Reem Investments.

The ACS students will be put through their paces by coaches from Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) who will instruct the youngsters based on the principles and methods employed by the first team players at Manchester United.

They will also play three friendly matches against Al Khubairat British School, Al Yasmina School and Abu Dhabi Thistle FC as well as taking in a desert safari trip and a tour around Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Bambang Sugeng Bin Kajairi, Chief Executive Officer of Reem Investments, the Abu Dhabi-based investment company which is building the Rawdhat community on Airport Road, said, “We understand the importance of encouraging and developing physical activity in young people and we are proud to be able to facilitate this visit from Singapore.

“We hope that that our facilities will continue to attract sporting visitors from around the world and help build the foundation of a thriving sporting community here in Abu Dhabi.”
